Tour of Hainan: MTN-Qhubeka making a habit of International Podiums

Team MTN-Qhubeka’s Reinardt Janse van Rensburg has secured another impressive international finish, coming in second place in the General Classification (GC) for the Tour of Hainan in China that ended on 28 October 2011. He also finished in fourth place in the Green Jersey rankings.

2012 Tour: Reaching new heights

18 October 2011 - The 2012 Tour de France route, revealed this morning in Paris' Palais des Congrès, casts the spotlight on the potential of intermediate mountain ranges. Christian Prudhomme has turned to novelty and to the cyclists' fighting spirit to keep the race for the Yellow Jersey open for as long as possible.

   

South Africa's Stander wins opening stage in Malaysian event

Multiple South African and African mountain bike racing champion, Burry Stander (Specialized USN), won the opening stage of the inaugural Langkawi International Mountain Bike Challenge in Malaysia on Tuesday.

Stander outsprinted four-time Cape Epic champion, Karl Platt of Germany to clock a winning time of two hours 24 minutes and 20 seconds for the 61km stage that started and finished at the Langkawi Sports Complex. Former European champion, Thomas Dietsch of France, was third.

South Africa’s Elite Women’s road cycling team put on a great display of determination and are starting to reap the rewards of their months of racing in Europe when they remained with the main bunch for most of the race in Copenhagen on Saturday, 24 September, at the 2011 UCI World Road Cycling Championships in Denmark.
