In hospital getting sewn back together. Also looks like I have a broken finger. Is it really necessary to have 3 races in one bunch!?

Mountain bikers dominate at Giro del Capo

(Cape Town, 12 March 2010) The winner of the 2010 Pick n Pay Cape Argus Giro del Capo is three-times former champ David George from Safindit.co.za Invitational. In today's fourth and final stage of the Giro, a thrilling time trial up Signal Hill, George held off close competitors Kevin Evans and Burry Stander to claim the top prize at this year's race.

David Bellairs, Co-Director of the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust, says this year's Giro del Capo has been remarkable due to the dominance of the mountain bikers over the road cyclists. "The top three guys all come from mountain biking backgrounds and they have really given the road cyclists a run for their money."
After the first three stages in Wellington, Durbanville and Paarl, under-23 World Champion mountain biker Burry Stander held the pink leaders jersey. However, a superb sprint up Signal Hill this morning provided George with a big enough lead over his competitors to claim the top prize.
Twenty teams competed in this year's Giro del Capo, with Team Medscheme taking top team honours. The race covered a total of 425,5km over four days.
Overall Results
1. David George 10.32'26
2. Kevin Evans 10.32'37
3. Burry Stander 10.32'38
