Cape Town Market / Noble Energy wins 2011 Coronation Double Century

(Swellendam, 26 November 2011)  Cape Town Market / Noble Energy has clinched the 2011 Coronation Double Century, beating title holders Daikin-Gu Elites and breaking their three year domination.  Second and third places are to be confirmed and are currently under protest. Vodacom C was the first ladies team and Cycle Lab Supercyling were the first mixed team to finish.

Pre-race tips from Coronation Double Century’s race doctor

(Cape Town, 15 November 2011) The annual Coronation Double Century is set to take place in Swellendam on 26 November. Race doctor Dr Basil Bonner of Mediclinic has warned cyclists taking part in the race not to underestimate the difference between a 100km and 200km race distance, especially in terms of the physiological effect the longer distance has on a rider’s body.

Team MTN-Qhubeka’s Reinardt Janse van Rensburg has secured another impressive international finish, coming in second place in the General Classification (GC) for the Tour of Hainan in China that ended on 28 October 2011. He also finished in fourth place in the Green Jersey rankings.
